Context & Main Aim

STEP 3 is an answer to the challenges related to the rapid transition to new forms of e training in the VET environment. The main aim of the STEP 3 Project is to support digital education readiness, delivering 30 innovative, tailored e-learning modules in the form of OER for the upskilling of VET teachers and trainers.

Defining vocational education and training (VET) strategies for the future often happens in turbulent times. The COVID-19 pandemic created a new economic crisis and increased social inequalities. We should not forget that it had a damaging effect on VET students, learners, teachers and trainers, on companies and apprentices, and on the workers. The pandemic is not over, yet already millions of workers lost their jobs who will need to be reskilled and upskilled for green and digital transition in the labour market. We still do not know how many VET learners dropped out and will be part of a lost generation. We cannot afford that.

Our vision is to provide urgent solutions to VET schools, Teachers, Tutors to support their on-line delivery of trainings, improving also the quality and inclusiveness of initial and continuous VET, ensuring equal access to quality VET trainings for all young and adult learner

STEP 3, is an answer to the challenges related to the rapid transition to new forms of e-training in the VET environment. The 30 new training modules developed during are going to support the digital upskilling of VET trainers/teachers and tutors

Initial and continuous professional development of VET teachers, trainers and mentors in both school and work-based settings

STEP 3 and the 30 modules are directly targeting the digital upskilling of VET Teachers/Trainers/mentors and VET Leaders, preparing them to act efficiently in the new e-learning environment. Through the development of effective digital, open and innovative VET e-training techniques and methodologies and pedagogies (in the form of OER), EVBB and the partnering Organizations are providing practical tools that are going to improve the e-learning experience and provide better learning opportunities for all.

Supporting the uptake of innovative approaches and digital technologies for teaching and learning

  1. Contribution to the development of a high-performing digital education ecosystem, through the digital upskilling of VET teachers/trainers/mentors, increasing their confidence and competence in the delivery of Vocational Training in the e-environment. The STEP 3 – 30 modules are going to be in the form of OER and provide VET Teachers/trainers and staff with skills and competences that will enable them to prepare high-quality content, user friendly tools and secure platforms for the delivery of e-training, creating an attractive e-learning experience in favor of VET learners.
  2. Enhancing digital skills and competences for the digital transformation through the delivery of advanced digital skills, within the DigiComp 2 Framework, develop common guidelines for teachers and educational staff to foster digital literacy and tackle disinformation through education and training, working with civil society.
